April Poetry Challenge

Hi there, Friend!

It’s April, National Poetry Month!  Happy National Poetry Month!  I find it funny that April in Japanese is shigatsu, which means the fourth month, and shi means both four and poetry in Japanese!  Nice pun!

As you may know, one of the most popular ways to celebrate National Poetry Month is to write a poem every day for the month of April.  I have decided to begin my blog by accepting the challenge and writing and posting at least one poem every day this month.  Please share any poems you write with me.  Ganbarimashou!

Here goes!

  1. Happy National Poetry Month!
As you know, our constitution determines that all Japanese have to make at least one haiku on April 1st. We live in a haiku country.
